Barhal–Ozguven Village–Ozguven Falls Route
Accommodation: Barhal
Starting Point: Özgüven
Level of Difficulty: easy
Duration: 5-7 hours
Altitude: 2150 m.
From Barhal drive towards Saręgöl (H00). After 6-7 kilometres, the road crosses a bridge (H04). Beyond the bridge turn left. Soon we come to a second bridge (H06). Cross the bridge and follow the road upstream. You will pass through two small hamlets. Further on we come to a third bridge which you should ignore. Drive straight on to a fourth bridge which you should cross and will lead you to the village of Özgüven (H08). Don’t take the road to the right which will take you to the village of Bęçakçęlar. After a short time, the road winds up a steep slope at the top of which we take a right (H10). 10 minutes later we come to another junction. The road to the right leads to the village of Özgüven and the one to the left (H11)leads to the waterfall. It is best to leave your vehicle in the village and walk from there to the waterfall which takes about 1 ½ -2 hours. Take the road to the left. Keep straight on at the junction until you reach a bridge. If you have a 4-wheel drive vehicle carry on. If not, park and start to walk. You will see a wooden shack on the far side of the stream and before you come to it there is an unfinished track where you should abandon your vehicle. Walk straight ahead. 200-300 metres later you will see the waterfall but to have a really good view of it take the path to the right and walk for half an hour (H14). The waterfall is high but the drop is very steep being broken by rock formations. The falls are surrounded by beautiful forests and on your way you can pick delicious wild raspberries.
